Versace Full Power
VERSACE FULL POWER
It seemed natural for fashion family force Versace to announce a collaboration range with high street giant H&M. The latest had already worked on capsule collections with other big names in the industry and choosing Versace, the Italian label experiencing a golden moment, was just pleasing and unsurprising news for all.
What actually made everyone go crazy was Donatella’s choice for the inspiration behind the exclusively for all fans collection: “The very best of Versace”. So what we will have on November 17th at selected H&M stores will be a redesigned edit of the most memorable pieces and moments of the Gianni era. The collection geniously thought by the sisterissima, has all the gold, studs, floral baroque and tropical prints and of course the glorious Medusa that all the admirers of the label would fall for. True to the label’s DNA Donatella obviously carries within, this collaboration exemplifies the Gianni Versace Joie de vivre attitude dressed in sexiness and glamour. Donatella, who took over the creative direction after her brother’s death in 1997 but was no stranger in the fashion team, was responsible for some behind the scenes hits from that time. To her merit are the creativity for the famous Richard Avedon ads during almost two decades, the Versus line and the wise link between the house and popular culture. This one, being a continuous influence since the brand’s birth has played a key role to establish itself as one of the most influential names and families in the fashion business.
During the launch show in New York we could see Prince and Nicky Minaj performing their talent for the occasion as ambassadors for this whole new idea, and this is one of the greatest joys about the collaboration with H&M that next week we can all be Prince´s, Nickys, Giannis and supermodels storming powerfully down the street.
